The Minister of Taxation will tighten controls after the discovery of 87,500 pills

In two weeks in December 2024, the Customs Agency seized 87,500 pills. Of these, 80,000 are opioids.

According to Tax Minister Rasmus Stoklund (S), this emphasizes the need for more control.

The Ministry of Taxation writes this in a press release.

The minister says that the government will find more pills in the future with customs officers, dogs and container scanners.

– Opioids do not belong in our young people’s party environments or out in society. That is why I am happy that the customs officers have seized so many pills. It clearly emphasizes that we as a society face a big task, says Rasmus Stoklund.

The 80,000 pills are tramadol pills. Tramadol is a pain reliever drug and an opioid.

The remaining 7,500 pills are pregabalin pills, which, according to the Danish Health Authority, are often abused by people who also abuse opioids.
