On Thursday, the Ministry of Finance reopened a benchmark bond issue, due in May 2027, and borrowed 798 million lei from the banks, compared to the scheduled amount of 400 million lei, at an annual interest rate of 6.19%.

8 primary dealers participated in the auction, i.e. those who bought the bonds, sending bids both for their own account and for the account of individual and legal clients.
The total volume of the request was 1.16 billion lei, of which the banks offered 1.04 billion lei in their own name and account. The non-competitive offers were 77 million lei.
Of the total amount awarded, of 798 million lei, the banks offered 681 million lei in their name and on their own account, while the non-competitive offers amounted to 77 million lei, writes Ziarul Financiar.
