The modern tourist wants to go to the countryside
Director of the Tourist Organization of Serbia, Marija Labović, said that modern tourists are increasingly looking for a holiday village, the organization reported.
During the opening of the 15th International Fair of Tourism and Rural Tourism in Kragujevac, she said that this manifestation is extremely important, especially for the presentation of rural tourism.
“Rural tourism is exactly what modern tourists, both local and foreign, are increasingly looking for,” said Labović.
She added that this year is a record year for Serbian tourism because the number of arrivals and overnight stays of both domestic and foreign tourists has increased.
As she said, records are also being broken when it comes to foreign currency inflow from tourism.
At the fair, which will last until Saturday, November 2, 70 exhibitors, travel agencies from Serbia and the region, as well as hoteliers, tourist centers, spa resorts, rural households, wineries and distilleries presented themselves.
