The MOL team club will be on the European main table again this year

The international cup tournament did not bring luck to the football clubs of the MOL Team, although of course we will have a team on the international main table this year as well. However, this is not due to the good qualifying result, but rather due to the good performance in the league, since the Serbian championship finisher Topolyai SC he already secured his place in a group stage with the bronze medal.

TSC finished second last year, which earned them a BL qualifier, and although they didn’t manage to get it, they were able to continue on the main table of the Europa League. The most recent third place was a Europa League qualifier, but unfortunately Topolya could not take this again, so it was placed in the group stage of the Conference League.

Topolya was forced to let go of its successful coach – we talked about this with the club’s director before the start – and it looks like it will take some time for the team and head coach Dean Klafuric to get a feel for working together. This is evidenced by the Europa League qualifier, which the Vojvodina team won with the new club of the outgoing coach, Zarko Lazetic, Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Due to the events in Israel, Maccabi hosted TSC in Szombathely, and since the referee sent off two players from Topolya in the first half, the team was in a very difficult situation. After the 3-0 defeat, there was not much hope left, and TSC ran into an even worse defeat in Topolya: the final result was 1-5. The others can’t brag either
