The moment when the mosque collapses from the Israeli bombardment in Lebanon

After the heavy bombings on Saturday night in southern Lebanon, which targeted Hezbollah infrastructure, today the IDF proceeded to blow up a mosque which, as announced by the terrorists, had been converted into an arms warehouse. In fact, the IDF released the video of its detonation.

The Israeli army has begun demolishing mosques in southern Lebanon which it claims were used to incite anti-Jewish hatred and hide weapons intended for attacks on Israel.

Before today’s attack, an Arabic-speaking representative of the Israeli army warned the residents of 25 areas in southern Lebanon, calling on them to head immediately north of the Awali River.

Israel hit Beirut with the heaviest bombardments to date

Successive Israeli airstrikes hit the southern suburbs of Beirut during the night of Saturday, October 5, but also during the early morning hours, today, Sunday, October 6.

It was Israel’s heaviest shelling of targets in Beirut since last month, when tensions against Iran-backed Hezbollah escalated dramatically.

During the night, the explosions rocked all of Beirut, while columns of red and white fire were visible for about 30 minutes several kilometers away from the Lebanese capital.

It was Israel’s largest targeted attack on Beirut to date, according to eyewitnesses and analysts on local television channels.

Today, a gray cloud of fog spread over Beirut, with debris from Israeli bombing scattered along roads in the southern suburbs, while plumes of smoke were visible over the same area.

“Saturday night was the most violent of all previous nights. The buildings were shaking around us, and for a moment I had the impression that there was an earthquake. There were dozens of aerial bombardments – we couldn’t count them – and the noise was deafening,” said Hanan Abdullah, a resident of Beirut’s southern suburbs.

Gaza: At least 24 dead in Israeli airstrike on mosque and school

At least 24 people were killed and 93 others injured when Israeli airstrikes hit a mosque and a school housing internally displaced people in the Gaza Strip early today, according to the press office of the Hamas-controlled government in Gaza.

Palestinian health officials said at least 20 more people had been killed since last night in northern Gaza when the army sent armored vehicles there for the first time in months, while urging residents to move to what they described as safe zones in the south.

The Israeli military said it carried out “precision strikes against Hamas terrorists” operating inside command and control centers located at the Ibn Rushd school and the Suhada al-Aqsa mosque in Deir al-Bala, central Gaza.

Hamas denies Israeli accusations that it uses civilian facilities such as schools, hospitals and mosques for military purposes.

The attacks on the mosque and school came as the war between Israel and the Islamist group Hamas in the Palestinian enclave approaches its first anniversary and as Israel expands its operations in Lebanon.

The press service of the Hamas-controlled government in Gaza announced that Israel had struck 27 homes, schools and IDP shelters across Gaza in the past 48 hours.

“These crimes are taking place amid difficult health conditions in the Gaza Strip and where the remaining hospitals cannot provide proper medical care as the number of wounded and sick is increasing daily,” he added.

Meanwhile, Israeli tanks advanced into the Beit Lahiya and Jabalia areas of northern Gaza overnight while jets hit several houses, killing at least 20 people, according to health officials.

The Israeli military said its forces had surrounded the Jabalia area, the focus of its operations.

An airstrike killed 10 people in one house and five more in another strike in a second house, with residents calling it one of the worst nights in months.

The Israeli military said its forces were operating in Jabalia to fight Hamas militants, destroy military infrastructure and prevent the Palestinian organization from rebuilding.
