The Mossos d’Esquadra are investigating alleged abuse that occurred in a nursing home in the Sants neighborhood of Barcelona this New Year’s Eve, they informed Europa Press this Thursday.
According to the digital elCaso.cat, the police are investigating a worker who got drunk in the center and later attacked at least four of the residents while he was drunk. According to the same sources, the Mossos are investigating the facts as a possible crime of injuries, to which an alleged crime against sexual freedom could be added.
The investigation is open and at the moment there are no arrests. The Catalan police have received complaints from the families of those affected and are waiting for the investigations to progress, with the viewing of the images from the center’s security cameras, in case more attacks can be detected during the night.
The man, of Peruvian nationality, had worked at the residence since 2022 and as a precautionary measure the center’s management has removed him from his duties.
