The Casio MRG-B2000JS is produced in a limited series
A new member has been added to the product line of the G-Shock brand, which includes shock- and vibration-resistant wristwatches. “The new Juroku-Maru: San pays homage to the Japanese katana, displaying the uniqueness, strength and beauty of this special samurai sword,” said Sándor Nagy, Casio’s product manager. This special timepiece is available in a limited series of 800 pieces.
The MRG-B2000JS stands out from the crowd of gray everyday watches with its unique appearance. The MRG product line represents the pinnacle of the G-Shock brand, whose concept is based on detailed craftsmanship, the highest possible quality materials, state-of-the-art technologies and masterful metalwork.
Juroku-Maru:San was the starting point for Casio’s samurai sword, commissioned by the Japanese brand. The MRG family embodies strength and functionality and thus shares a common DNA with the legendary sword, the blade of which was made by master blacksmith Teruhira Kamijama, and the sheath of Agoan blue shell lacquer is attributed to master craftsman Mamoru Nomura.
The design of the MRG-B2000JS is based on the motifs of the Juroku-Maru:San katana, recalling its extraordinary form and aesthetics. “The bezel of the watch is made of pure Ti64 titanium with a unique tampering pattern and color, which was subjected to compression at high temperature and high pressure,” revealed Sándor Nagy. He added: and then polished, cut and recrystallized to reproduce the beautiful blade pattern of the Juroku-Maru:San samurai sword as accurately as possible.
The metal buckle has a pattern reminiscent of Agoan blue seashells. The characteristic shine of the watch was created as a result of the micro-level processing of the DAT55G,2 type metal alloy, which is three times harder than pure titanium. Its characteristic feature is that it reflects light, but not in any way, because its shine changes constantly depending on the viewing angle.
On the back of the watch is a Japanese kanji character (燦) meaning “San”. The appearance of the watch is completed by the hishimaki-gara textural pattern, as well as the traditional diamond shapes seen on Juroku-Maru:San swords and the indexes that evoke the curvature of the sword blade.
The suggested retail price of the MRG-B2000JS is HUF 3,399,990, making it the most expensive Casio watch ever put on the market in Hungary.
