As Reuters reported, each American gymnast wears tens of thousands of sparkling crystals and pearls from Swarovski. One “outfit” for exercise has a price of 24 thousand dollars (22 thousand euros).

American gymnastics is under the five rings, as traditionally, focused on the gold medal harvest. At the Olympic Games, the star Simone Biles appeared again, leading the experienced American team. The fact that the gymnastics team is aiming for the highest goals is also illustrated by their new set of jerseys.

“I think about how special these moments are, especially the Olympics, which are held once every four years, and how they will feel. Regardless of their performance, I want them to feel amazing and beautiful when they go to represent the USA in a jersey they can be proud of,” said Annie Heffernon, vice president of the women’s program at USA Gymnastics.

American gymnasts were already training in new jerseys before the Olympics. In a sharp race, they were put through their paces for the first time this Sunday in the team all-around qualification. The aforementioned Biles was also involved in this. She’s only 27 years old, but she’s still the oldest member of the USA Gymnastics team.

Thanks to her success at a young age, she won four gold medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics, and the Ohio native is just one medal away from becoming the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history. Considering that he competes in several disciplines, it is almost certain that he will reach this goal.

In Sunday’s all-around qualifier, Biles had the best performance among the Americans despite a recent calf injury.

The American is competing in her third Olympics. At the previous Games in Tokyo, she did not finish the team all-around final due to mental problems, she did not even participate in the women’s all-around final, and subsequently took a two-year break from sports. She made a great comeback at last year’s World Championships in Antwerp, where she won four gold and one silver medal.

Biles is starting in Paris despite injury concerns. After two of the five Sunday qualifications, she was at the top of the order in vault and floor and was second behind Zhou Yachin from China on balance beam.

“It’s unbelievable. She is an extraordinary gymnast and person. It’s unbelievable what she was able to do despite looking like her leg was hurting,” US gymnasts’ technical director Chellsie Memmel said, according to AFP.

“She’s just not of this world, is she? There’s never been anyone like her before and I don’t think there ever will be,” added British gymnast Ruby Evans to Biles’ address.

Pática Bilesová, Jade Careyová, Jordan Chilesová, Sunisa Leeová and Hezly Riverová triumphed in the qualification with a mark of 172.296 points. The American women got the best scores in three of the four disciplines, only the Chinese women were better on parallel bars.
