The most important trends in pictures

Now that the Spring-Summer 2025 Women’s Fashion Weeks are behind us, it’s time to take stock of the trends set by the “Big Four”. The trend cycle will repeat itself in the coming summer season.

These are the women’s spring-summer 2025 fashion trends from the Fashion Weeks in Paris, Milan, London and New York.

1920s

The 1920s silhouette is one of the main trends for spring-summer 2025. From the low waist to sparkling embellishments and fringes, the style of the roaring twenties has embraced many spring-summer 2025 shows.

’80s shoulders

Come summer 2025, ’80s shoulders will still be a key feature of today’s female silhouette. However, the sharp lines are softened by a more dropped shoulder, with an ‘oversized’ look that pays tribute to its vintage origins.

Fine flowers

Often in pastel and placed on light backgrounds, with sometimes semi-transparent materials, the season’s floral pattern has the delicate look of 18th century prints.

Kant all-over

The lace dress is not a trend that is easy to wear. It took several seasons for the daring transparency and erotic charge to become less shocking and more accepted. However, the spring-summer season of 2025 could be the season when this sensual piece conquers the mass market.

For several seasons now, the modern silhouette has been losing its modesty in favor of transparent clothing. Fueled by the ‘body positive’ trend, sheer garments continue to reveal the body behind layers of fabric.

Bloomer

The bloomer, which appeared in the mid-19th century, conquered the catwalks of season SS25. It is worn in a long version, as with Chloé, or as shorts, as with Torisheju.

Micro-short

Since the success of the Miu Miu autumn-winter 2023 show and the panties worn as the only bottom (the ‘no pants’ trend), ultra-short garments, especially micro-shorts, have become a permanent fixture on the catwalks. The spring-summer 2025 shows were no exception.

Boudoir

The boudoir has given rise to a wardrobe of codes that embody a fantasized, glamorous femininity: lingerie items, negligees, robes, satiny fabrics. For spring-summer 2025, brands have anchored this approach in an everyday wardrobe that no longer has anything to hide.

Volume 18th century

For the SS25 season, many brands are reinterpreting the hoop dresses of the 18th century and presenting creations with daring volumes. These new shapes emphasize exaggeratedly wide hips, as a logical continuation of the hourglass figure made famous by Kim Kardashian.

The puffed sleeves and flared A-line cut of the baby-doll silhouette marked Fashion Week SS25. A trend that fits the romantic atmosphere of the season.

Pinafore dress

The simplicity of the pinafore dress is in line with the Quiet Luxury trend and is reinvented in an ultra-long version. The look is almost monastic, if it weren’t for the courage to show a deep V-neck.

Cycling shorts

For spring-summer 2025, it is no longer a shame to wear cycling shorts as an everyday outfit. It is worn under blazers, as at Saint Laurent, or even with a light sweater for a casual chic look, as at Hermès

Windjack

Anchored in the Athletic Chic trend, the windbreaker is one of the key pieces of SS25. From Miu Miu to Yuhan Wang: the breathable material and loose cuts merge into more or less dressy silhouettes and once again blur the line between outdoor and chic wardrobe.

The wrong coat

The wrong coat has its origins in the ‘wrong’ shoe that appeared in 2023 and whose expression was formulated by stylist Allison Bornstein. The idea is based on the unexpected marriage of two pieces that a priori have little to do with each other. For the summer of 2025, this style tip will mainly be applied to the combination of an outdoor jacket with a formal dress.
