In the past few days, a car has been spotted at the Nurburgring Corvette different from all the others. According to our American colleagues it could be the Zoraa special version hybrid and frighteningly powerful.
If the 1,078 hp of the ZR1 seemed like a lot to you, in fact, prepare yourselves for this even more exaggerated Corvette, which could raise this figure even further until it almost touches the border with the hypercar.
The best of both worlds
We have known for some time that Chevrolet is working on a Corvette of this type. The American company itself, through the voice of Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juecther, admitted that his team was working on a new model of the American supercar.
So, after the hybrid E-Ray and the crazy ZR1, the American designers seem ready for a top-of-the-range version capable of combining the best of the two previous models.
Born to pay homage to the historic engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov – the “father” of the Corvette -, this version could unite the 5.5 V8 biturbo to an electric motor, for a total power that could easily exceed 1,200 HP.
The American Monster
The model seen at the Nurburgring by CarSpyMedia It is indeed electrified, as evidenced by the yellow sticker on the car that indicates the presence of a battery and high-voltage electrical components. Additionally, the Corvette in the spy video appears to have a similar cooling system to the E-Ray, with a series of details on the driver’s side that recall those found on the electrified Chevrolet.
Chevrolet
Doing some quick calculations, therefore, if you combine the 1,078 HP of the ZR1 with the approximately 160 HP of the E-Ray you get 1.238 CV. But a refinement of the electric motor could further improve this figure, bringing the Chevrolet closer to even crazier numbers.
For the moment, however, there is still no official news from the USA and we do not know when the supercar will be unveiled. We are betting, however, on a presentation during 2025, with prices higher than 200,000-250,000 euros.
