When we talk about a charging base we usually think of a technological product that looks like that, but there are some brands that try to give a special touch to their design, and Nomad is one of our favorite brands precisely for that reason. Their products are not limited to offering us the best technical specifications, they also take care of many details to mark the differences with the rest of the market. It is true that you have to pay for that, but there are times when it is worth it. We take care of all the details of our office, entrance to the house or bedroom but then we place a gadget with a more than debatable design, it doesn’t make much sense, right? That’s why when we talk about this Stand One Max We can not only limit ourselves to how it works, we must also talk about how it fits into any room. from our house or in our office.

Materials such as metal and glass have been used in its manufacture, and Nomad has opted for two colors that never clash: black or white. The glossy finish offered by the glass panel of the charging space for our iPhone gives a lot of elegance to the base, and the combination with the matte black of the base looks really good. In the black base (the one in this article) the metal parts of the base are finished in a very dark gray, almost black, while in the white base the finish is anodized gray. But in addition, these materials used are used to give weight to the assembly that gives it stability and allows you to put the iPhone on and take it off with just one hand without the base moving a millimeter.

Of course the technical specifications are the best we can find right now for our iPhone, making use of the Qi2 standard with 15W fast charging. This standard is compatible with all iPhones since the iPhone 12, but also with other Android phones that may also be compatible, so we can recharge smartphones from other brands if we need to. The charging space for Apple Watch is exclusive to the Apple Watch, it does not work with other brands because although it uses wireless charging it is not standard. Yes indeed, It has fast charging (5W) that is compatible with Apple Watch Series 7 onwards, and all Ultra models. If your Apple Watch is older, don’t worry, it is also compatible but it will not have fast charging.

The charging space for AirPods with wireless charging case works with any model that has wireless charging, even with other headphones from other brands that are compatible, it is a standard 5W wireless charging position. It is placed just behind the space for the Apple Watch, which makes the most of the space of the base, which is very compact, but it has one drawback: If you wear the Apple Watch with the strap closed, or use a loop strap that cannot be opened, you will not be able to attach the headphones. Since I charge the AirPods once a week it is not a problem for me, it more than compensates me for the fact that it is a base that takes up little space on my table. Anyway, with most of the straps I have there is no problem. You also cannot put the watch’s charging disc horizontally, it is not a moving part.

Nomad has also thought about the iPhone’s camera module that protrudes when we do not use a case, so the iPhone’s charging disk is raised so that whatever model you use, whatever its size, will not touch the camera module with the base, and it is also easier to remove from it because you can hold the iPhone perfectly. Of course it works with cases as long as they are MagSafe, the magnetic grip is very strong, there is no risk of it falling. Another detail is the Support for StandBy mode, which lets you turn your iPhone horizontally so you can use it as a desk or nightstand clockview notifications, use widgets to control your HomeKit devices or view your calendar information, even use your phone as a photo frame. The information that appears on the screen is configured on your iPhone so you have many options. And at night the phone screen turns red and dims as much as possible, making it a perfect alarm clock that won’t bother you at all while you sleep.

If you are looking for an elegant charging base, with top quality materials, with the best technical specifications and that takes care of the battery of your devices, this Nomad Stand One Max 3rd Generation is perfect in all aspects.
