Prague – There are excellent conditions in ski areas across the country before the coming weekend. Natural snow has fallen, and where possible, operators continue to make artificial snow. They are gradually opening more ski slopes and lifts, lower resorts are also open. Dozens of kilometers of cross-country trails can be used by cross-country skiers. On the weekend, the ski areas expect a lot of interest from visitors, also because the forecast promises inverse weather with the sun on the mountains.
South Bohemian ski resort Lipno is gradually opening more slopes. In Zadov, the Kobyla, Nové Hutě and U Horejšů campuses are in operation. The Hochficht Ski Resort on the Austrian side of the Šumava Mountains has all slopes and cable cars in operation, on the slopes lies 55 to 85 centimeters of snow with a fresh layer of powder. The Šumava Ski&Bike Špičák is also expanding its offer. The Spodní Šance ski slope with timed slalom and evening skiing and a ski cross track offers visitors variety.
In the Ore Mountains, you can ski in large areas such as Klínovec, Klíny or Telnice, as well as in smaller resorts. “We will also open the Jáchymovská, Turistická and Karásek ski slopes, and the popular U zabitýho ski slope is already open today for the first time this year,” said Martin Koky, spokesman for the Klínovec area. The weekend promises good conditions for cross-country skiers as well, tens of kilometers of tracks have been groomed.
In the Jizerské hory, the Ski bižu area at Tanvaldské Špičák is in full operation, from Friday the same will apply to Severák in Hrabětice. The ski areas in Kořenov, Josefova Dola and Černá Říčka in Desná also have very good conditions, as do cross-country skiers on the Jizerská magistrála.
Fans of skiing will also find excellent conditions in the Giant Mountains. In Rokytnica nad Jizerou, they can use 11 kilometers of slopes. Nearby Harrachov has almost eight kilometers of pistes in operation, Paseky na Jizerou has over seven kilometers, Schachty in Vysoké nad Jizerou has over four kilometers and more than three kilometers of pistes can be used by skiers in Beneck or Vítkovice.
In the largest Krkonoše ski resort Špindlerův Mlýn, you can ski on more than 27 kilometers of slopes with up to 80 centimeters of snow. In the Eastern Giant Mountains Ski Resort Černá hora – Pec is open for almost 47 out of 50 kilometers of slopes.
In Dolní Moravá below Králický Sněžnik, the black Sněžník slope and the Malý Slon slope will open on Friday, and a part of the cross-country course will be added on Saturday. 60 kilometers of cross-country tracks are prepared for cross-country skiers.
In Orlické hory, there is an area on Buková hora in Orlickousteck. On the Červenovodská side, you can ski on the Mlýnická slope, on the Čenkovice slope on the Třebovská slope. There are also connections between both sides of the mountain. “On Saturday, we will also put a part of the Heroltic ski slope into operation,” said Buková hora Skiresort spokeswoman Adéla Hurdová to ČTK.
There is over 60 centimeters of snow at the highest points of the Jeseníky Mountains, and due to the inverse weather, visitors can enjoy sunny weather. In Ski Arena Karlov there are three four-seater cable cars in operation, as well as other lifts and all slopes that serve these cable cars and lifts. Ideal conditions also prevail in the Kraličák area.
The ski areas in the Beskydy will also offer ideal conditions at the weekend. The resorts have produced enough technical snow, this week natural snow also fell. Those interested in downhill skiing can go to the Ski Mezivodí area in Bílá or the Opálená Ski area in Pstruží. Almost half a meter of snow fell on the slopes in the Rališka complex in Horní Bečva in the Vsetín region in recent days.
Eight ski slopes are open in the Highlands, and according to the operators, the snow conditions are very good. On Friday afternoon, the lift will start running on Kadlečák near Světlá nad Sázavou. Dozens of kilometers of tracks for cross-country skiing are, for example, in Žďársk.
In South Moravia, skiing is to start in the Filipov údolí in Hodonín region from the weekend. Great conditions for skiing are found, for example, in Hodonín near Kunštát in Blanensko.
In Central Bohemia, all four ski areas are in operation, the conditions are excellent, in most places there is around a meter of technical snow. On Wednesday, he opened the campus in Kvasejovice in the Příbram region. At Monínec near Sedlec-Prčice, the lower part of the area is also in operation.
