The game of musical chairs continues. While he took up his position as general manager of Agromousquetaires in November, Xavier Deryde should already give up his apron according to information from our colleagues at LSA. Agromousquetaires is the industrial branch of the Mousquetaires group, whose fifty factories in France notably supply half of the private label brands (MDD) nestled in the Intermarché shelves.
Restructuring still in progress
The information is all the more surprising given that Agromousquetaires has already renewed its management teams last year. Jean-Baptiste Saria left his seat at the presidency in the summer, having been there since 2019. Nathalie Florent, for her part, announced her departure as general director in July, to be replaced by Xavier Deryde, who arrived from at Europe Snacks, a leader in savory groceries. The trial period will not have been validated.
A hasty departure that should be linked to the low-profile restructuring situation that Agromousquetaires has been experiencing in recent months. Last June, Thierry Cotillard, president of the Les Mousquetaires group, detailed his project to transform the industrial tool into the press. If management still refuses to talk about factory “closures” and prefers to talk about “refocusing” its operations, it has indicated its desire to invest less in the production of “ultra-processed” products.
A site soon to be sold
In this sense, we indicated last summer that the Sveltic factory was looking for a buyer: the Belgian group What’s Cooking indicated this January 8 entered into exclusive negotiations for its takeover. The fishing division of Agromousquetaires is also in the process of restructuring, while the group has also indicated in recent months its desire to sell the Cook factory, which produces surimi. What if the waltz observed on the factory side caused some turmoil on the management side?
