The musical “Zorba” will be premiered at the Terazije Theater in Belgrade on November 24.
The Belgrade audience will have a unique opportunity to watch the musical performed by the Kragujevac ensemble in its home theater, the Joakim Vujić Knjaževo-Serbian Theater in Kragujevac, for which tickets are always in demand.
This musical was based on “Zorba the Greek” by Nikos Kazantsakis. It is written by the authors who have received several prestigious Tony awards – text by Joseph Stein, music by John Kender, lyrics by Fred Ebb. The direction is entrusted to the Polish director Witold Mazurkiewicz, who has extensive experience on European stages and has successfully directed a number of plays in this genre, and the scenography is by Anna Kolbyanova.

The musical Zorba arrived on Broadway in 1968 and, despite the poor ratings of theater critics, had over 300 performances, was nominated for a Tony Award and played on theater stages around the world.
The main role in the musical is played by the champion of the Knjaževo-Serbian Theater Saša Pilipović, and the ensemble consists of Nenad Vulević, Jasmina Dimitrijević, Milica Majstorović, Ljubica Gašparović Jevtović, Aleksandar Milojević, Dragan Stokić and others.
