Anika Akhter (25), a mother of 2 children, was recovered by the police from Harualchhari in Fatikchhari upazila.
The body was recovered from Sona Mia Haji’s house near Banglabazar in Ward No. 5 of Harualchhari UP on Sunday (January 12) around 5:30 pm.
The recovered body is the daughter of Nazim Uddin of the same area. She has a 4-month-old daughter and a 6-year-old son. She is the wife of expatriate Md. Murad of Lakshipur district.
Talking to local residents including Robin, Abbas and Aziz, it is known that the door of their house has been closed since noon today, and everyone is suspicious. Later, one more person entered the room along with Robin and found Anika’s blood all over her body, butchery marks on various parts of her body.
After being informed, the police came and recovered the body after Maghrib. At that time, no one was found in the house except Anika’s mother.
Local UP Chairman Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury said – I went to the spot. The girl was hacked to death. I heard that the deceased girl and her mother have minor mental problems. The administration will take action in this regard.
In this regard, Bhujpur police station officer-in-charge Md. Mahbubul Haque said – We are still at the scene. The deceased girl and her mother are somewhat mentally unstable. He and his mother used to quarrel all the time. At one point today, the girl died on the spot after her mother stabbed her multiple times. His mother has been arrested in this incident. Legal action will be taken after the body is recovered.
