With the aim of unhindered audio-visual viewing for all, everyone and everything, the National Opera will present in conditions of universal accessibility 30 of the performances of the 2024/25 season, in a total of 15 productions, in the Stavros Niarchos Hall and the Alternative Stage.
This year’s services of equal language and sensory access are another decisive step towards the gradual establishment of universal access to all ELLS productions.

According to the ELLS announcement, in the selected shows – in collaboration with ATLAS EP – the existence of seats for K/deaf and hard of hearing people who use Greek Sign Language (ENG), for people who use the supertitles (CAPS) has been foreseen which cover the entire auditory channel, as well as for blind people and people with limited access to the visual communication channel, who will be able to use the audio description (AD) service. Guide dogs are also welcome. The action is implemented within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0” with funding from the European Union – NextGenerationEU.

As stated in the ELLS announcement, accessibility services are provided free of charge for people with disabilities. People with disabilities pay a student ticket price (10 euros for the Alternative Stage and 12 or 15 euros for the Stavros Niarchos Hall).
The funding agency for the universal accessibility services for the performance is the Ministry of Culture, in the context of the Project: “SUB.1.1.6 Attracting people 65+ and people with disabilities to actions of the National Opera”, which is implemented in the context of the National Recovery Plan and Resilience “Greece 2.0” funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
