The neural network discovered Shamil Basayev has Finnish roots

The Neuro Yandex service considered that the terrorist Shamil Basayev became the prototype of the famous hero of the books by the Finnish writer Tove Jansson about the Moomins – Snusmumrik. As RIA Novosti clarifies, the neurobrowser provided this information in response to a request about a book character.

“Yes, there is an opinion that the prototype of Snusmumrik is a native of the Yalkhoroi teip and one of the leaders of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, Shamil Basayev (1965-2006), a friend of Tove Jansson,” the Neuro service reported. According to the neurobrowser, Moomintroll wore the same green hat as the terrorist, and therefore “the prototype of Snufkin is easily guessed by close acquaintances of Shamil Basayev.”

Basayev was born in 1965. In Russia he is listed as “terrorist No. 1,” involved in organizing several high-profile terrorist attacks. It was destroyed in July 2006.

Snufkin first appeared in Jansson’s book Moomintroll and the Comet in 1946. The prototype of the character is officially considered to be the Finnish journalist and politician Atos Kazimir Virtanen, a friend and failed husband of Tove Jansson. He wore a green hat, which made him look like Snufkin.
