The new ASUS Zenbook S 14 equipped with AI, now available in Romania

ASUS announced the availability on the Romanian market of the new Zenbook S 14 (UX5406), one of the company’s thinnest and most portable PCs with AI capabilities, with a diagonal of 14 inches. Zenbook S 14 has a new functional aesthetic, being completely redesigned, both inside and out. The case features the new and innovative ASUS Ceraluminum, a ceramic hybrid material obtained through advanced technology, available in a range of colors inspired by nature. According to the manufacturer, this material offers exceptional resistance against scratches and wear.

Zenbook S 14 is equipped with the latest Intel Core Ultra 9 (Series 2) processor with integrated AI and Intel Arc graphics, whose neural processing unit (NPU) provides up to 47 tera operations per second (TOPS). Advanced CNC milling enables the integration of an ultra-slim vapor chamber into the ultra-quiet ambient cooling system – unique for such a slim device – ensuring CPU TDP performance of up to 28 watts with minimal noise. Functional design elements include a dedicated Copilot key and an oversized 16:10 touchpad that recognizes smart gestures.

The ASUS Lumina OLED 3K 120Hz display and powerful four-speaker audio system provide immersive entertainment and a highly realistic cinema-level experience. Robust security is provided by the Microsoft Pluton chip, and the new Windows Access Keys feature securely stores credentials. The AiSense IR camera system has enhanced biometric security and privacy features such as facial recognition for automatic login and disconnection, Adaptive Lock and Adaptive Dimming.

The price of the model UX5406SA-PV178X with Scandinavian White case starts from approx. 9499 lei, while UX5406SA-PZ281X, in Zumaia Gray color, with touch screen and stylus costs approx. 9999 lei.

Zenbook S 14 has been designed with a functional aesthetic, using the innovative ASUS Ceraluminum material, which provides both durability and elegance. Using cutting-edge CNC technology, Zenbook S 14 achieves remarkable suppleness with a thickness of only 1.1 cm, while integrating advanced components, including an advanced vapor chamber cooling system. It is the only laptop that combines such elegance and functionality, and is the thinnest and most compact 14-inch laptop, underscoring ASUS’ commitment to top performance and portability. CNC machining has led to the exclusive design of the geometric grid above the keyboard and the extended touchpad area. The laptop is available in two shades inspired by nature – Zumaia Gray and Scandinavian White.

Zenbook S 14 offers state-of-the-art AI capabilities in an ultra-slim form factor. It is equipped with the latest Intel Core Ultra 7 (Series 2) processor with system-on-chip (SoC) design. The SoC design reduces the size of the motherboard by 27% to increase overall cooling efficiency and integrates premium, low-power LPDDR5X DRAM in a compact package. This second factor shortens the distance between the processor and memory, allowing for higher bandwidth and lower latency, which ensures improved stability and higher performance. Accompanied by 32 GB of RAM and a PCIe 4.0 SSD up to 1 TB, the processor reaches a TDP of up to 28 watts, also having a neural processing unit (NPU) that offers up to 47 tera operations per second (TOPS) for modern AI applications, ensuring that the 72 Wh battery provides enough autonomy for the whole day.

The user experience is intuitive, with a dedicated Windows Copilot key on the ASUS ErgoSense keyboard for instant Windows AI support and an oversized touchpad that matches the screen’s 16:10 aspect ratio. This touchpad enhances comfort and ease of use by enabling quick adjustments to audio volume, screen brightness and more through smart gestures. The ultra-compact Zenbook S 14 features a full set of I/O ports, including two Thunderbolt 4-compatible USB-C, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, HDMI 2.1 and a combo audio jack. The integrated WiFi 7 interface is not missing, with ASUS WiFi Master Premium certification.

It delivers realistic images with outstanding colors and HDR performance, including 100% DCI-P3 cinematic color gamut coverage to ensure vivid colors. Zenbook S 14 features a powerful four-speaker audio system certified by Harman Kardon, a remarkable engineering feat in such a slim device, capable of multidimensional Dolby Atmos sound.

Zenbook S 14 prioritizes noise reduction, featuring an advanced ultra-thin vapor chamber cooling system with two IceBlade fans, enabling sub-25dB ambient cooling mode while delivering TDP performance of up to 28W, then when necessary. The grid with geometric elements above the keyboard maximizes airflow and minimizes the ingress of dust or dirt.

User privacy and security are paramount, supported by Windows Access Keys and Microsoft Pluton, which integrate hardware, firmware and software to protect against ever-evolving cyber threats. Windows Hello facial recognition ensures secure access without the need to remember passwords. The ASUS AiSense IR camera enables Adaptive Lock, which monitors the user’s presence and locks the laptop when the user walks away, and Adaptive Dimming improves privacy by dimming the screen when the user looks away.
