The new Audi A7 hybrid (petrol and diesel) previewed

The strategy of Audi it is proceeding on a double track both in terms of engines and… names. The Ingolstadt company has differentiated the electric and thermal models by combining the former with even numbers and the latter with odd numbers. This is why in recent months we have seen a fully electric A6 and this is why the equivalent endothermic version will soon be presented, which will be called A7.

Expected in 2025, the German sedan will have the task of renewing the challenge with the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E-Class. And so it will be.

At A5 school

While waiting to see the first teaser photos and the official presentation of the model, our render tries to give a face to the new Audi. The proportions will be the same as always, with the A7 being close to 5 meters long and 2 meters wide, with high and clean sides and a front area with an important and unmistakably Audi appearance.

In this regard, we think that on the A7 we will find the style seen on the A5, with the very large hexagonal singleframe grille and thin and aggressive LED headlights complete with customizable graphics from the infotainment. The wheels they could have dimensions between 19″ and 21″, while in the rear there could be a full-width LED light bar.

Interior and engines

In the cockpit, the A7 could take inspiration from the Q6 e-tron and adopt the configuration with three displays, consisting of the 11.9″ instrument panel, the 14.5″ infotainment and the 10″ passenger monitor, 9″.

As for the engines, the PPC platform allows the presence of electrified engines in any form. This means that we should find versions on the Audi MHEV Plus (a mild hybrid system very similar in operation to the full hybrid) petrol and diesel and plug-in hybrids (petrol) and related front- and rear-wheel drive versions.

Plug-in hybrids might have batteries of approximately 25 kWh and allow travel of more than 100 km and the arrival at a later date of a high-performance variant, heir to the RS 6, cannot be ruled out. This too could be electrified and have at least 600 HP available.

The launch of the new Audi will take place in the first half of 2025, with the Avant version debuting a few months later.
