We now know that the W12 has stopped finding space under the (very long) hoods of the Bentleyto make room for a new V8. Times change. What does not change, however, is the desire to raise the performance bar ever higher, which is why the 4-liter twin-turbo petrol engine is flanked by an electric unit. Result: the most powerful cars ever from the Crewe company are being born.
And so the new Flying Spurexpected to debut in the coming months, will be the most powerful 4-door Bentley ever.
Family heart
The flagship of the winged B will mount the same powertrain as the new Continental GT, composed of the aforementioned V8 biturbo of 4 liters combined with an electric one for a total of 782 hp, exactly like the coupĂ©. All seasoned with a good 1,000 Nm of torque. Performance data are not yet available, for reference the new Continental GT goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2″ touching a top speed of 335 km/h.
Bentley’s Ultra Performance Hybrid engine
The press release does not even mention the battery power but it should maintain the 25.9 kWh of its sister, for an autonomy in 100% electric mode equal to 72 km, while combining the energy reserve and the petrol tank you can travel more than 800 km.
Nothing is said about the style of the new Bentley Flying Spur and the photo only shows part of the front, with the classic circular light clusters characterized here by a diamond-like workmanship. Of course, the winged B perched on top of the hood is not missing. However, we do not expect a design that breaks with tradition, just updates in some details, accompanied by a significant technological upgrade on the chassis side, driving assistants and interiors. Where there will naturally be classic Bentley luxury.
