The new Dacia Bigster was caught in Romania, during tests on the A1

The new SUV from Dacia is to be launched soon, and tests with the largest Dacia SUV to date are also taking place in Romania. Several drivers spotted camouflaged specimens on the A1 highway.

Dacia is going to present its biggest SUV to date. The Bigster, which will sit above the Duster in the current range of the domestic manufacturer, is to be introduced to the public soon.

In the spring of this year, I wrote about a few specimens caught in Romania, also in tests. Then the original post said the cars were seen in Covasna. Now, however, the tests seem to be taking place on the A1 motorway.

Dacia Bigster – Closer to launch

Even though it looks like a new generation Duster under the hood, we are dealing with the future Bigster. The dimensions betray it as we can clearly see from the proportions that it is a longer car than the Duster. The Bigster will essentially be a bigger Duster.

The new model will share the CMF-B platform with the Duster III, and the fact that the two cars look similar is no coincidence, their design being dictated by the Bigster concept.

Thus, the cars will share many design elements, with the biggest changes being related to the car’s wheelbase and overall length, to maximize space for passengers and their luggage.

We expect the Bigster to be 20cm longer than the Duster to create a palpable difference between the two models and squarely place the Bigster in the compact SUV segment.

And while we don’t have images of the new model’s cabin, we expect to see many elements shared with the new generation Duster: dashboard, infotainment system, steering wheel, controls and more.

The Bigster, Dacia Duster’s big brother, is set to be unveiled at the end of this year or early next year, so the wait will be over soon.
