The new electric SUV from Skoda will be presented on October 1. Elroq comes to complete the range of zero emissions of the Czech manufacturer

Skoda is preparing the launch of its new compact electric SUV. The Elroq will be built on the same platform as the Volkswagen ID.3 and other models in the group.

The Czech manufacturer has published a final teaser of its upcoming electric SUV and announces the official date on which it will debut. The Skoda Elroq will be presented on October 1 and will complete the Czech manufacturer’s range of electric models, joining the Enyaq.

The car will be unveiled on the company’s official Instagram and TikTok pages, but a recorded broadcast of the event will also be available on YouTube. The announcement of the official day when the new SUV will be launched comes with a new teaser and some information about the Elroq.

The photo released by Skoda shows one of the car’s headlights, so we can see details such as the shape of the daytime running lights. From what we have seen so far thanks to the pictures of camouflaged cars and the design sketches published by the manufacturer, the main attraction will be the car’s rugged appearance.

Even if we don’t know what the interior of the new Skoda electric model will look like, the manufacturer has already revealed some details about the Elroq’s cabin. Skoda says the interior will be made from recycled materials such as plastic bottles, recycled clothes and fishing nets recovered from the oceans.

As for the range of engines, the upcoming Skoda Elroq SUV will be available in four configurations: 50, 60, 85 and 85x. The Elroq 50 uses a 53 kWh battery and a 170 hp electric motor, while the 60 version uses a 63 kWh battery and a 204 hp electric motor.

The Elroq 60 will be equipped with a significantly larger 82 kWh battery and a 286 HP electric motor. The most powerful version, but also the only one equipped with two engines and all-wheel drive, is the Elroq 85x. It uses the same 82 kWh battery pack, but it now feeds two electric motors, for a total output of 299 hp.
