The new hearing health features of AirPods Pro 2 will not be available in Italy

Apple is about to release new features dedicated to hearing health that will arrive on AirPods Pro 2 with iOS 18.1, available next week. However, even if you have the right hardware and updated software, these features won’t be available worldwide, initially limited only to users in the United States and Canada.

Announced during Apple’s September event, these new features will allow AirPods Pro 2 to function like real hearing aidswith clinical tools to protect and improve hearing. The AirPods will perform a hearing test to adjust the sound according to individual results, thus transforming the headphones into clinical-quality assistive devices.

Even if you own the AirPods Pro 2 and an updated device to iOS 18.1these new options will only be available to users residing in the United States and in Canada. This is because health-related features often require approval from local health authorities, such as the FDA in the United States, which has already authorized the use of AirPods Pro 2 as clinical-grade hearing aids. Apple is likely waiting for similar approvals from other countries before expanding these features globally.

If you live in the United States or Canada, once you update your device to iOS 18.1you’ll find new hearing health options in your AirPods settings. It’s worth pointing out that these features are both version compatible Lightning than with that USB-C of the AirPods Pro 2.
