In dozens of reviews hosted on several tech blogs in China, we see strong excitement for the Honor Magic7 Pro and Magic7 Lite that have been released there since late October 2024, and now we have the announcement of a wide global rollout, starting with European buyers.
Let’s start with a brief description of the Magic7 Pro, it is an Android smartphone that carries the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, 12 GB of RAM and a 5,270 mAh battery with 100 W wired and wireless charging. This is the difference with the Chinese model, which has 5,850 mAh power pack. The global Magic7 Pro model also includes a slightly smaller battery compared to its predecessor which carried a 5,600 mAh battery.
The differences with the Chinese model end there, and the camera system is the same state-of-the-art affair. The main camera has the same 50MP 1/1.3-inch sensor with a 23mm lens and a two-stop f/1.4-f/2.0 variable aperture.
The zoom camera specs are based on a 200MP 3x periscope sensor with a 69mm f/2.6 lens and a 1/1.4-inch sensor size that’s worth comparing with the main cameras of some of its other big rivals. On the back is a 50MP 1/2.88-inch ultrawide camera with macro capabilities.
Up front is another 50MP sensor for the selfie camera that coexists in a pill-shaped notch with a 3D camera for face scanning. There is also an ultrasonic fingerprint under the display.
Speaking of which, the Honor Magic7 Pro has a 6.8-inch 1280×2800px LTPO AMOLED with a 1-120Hz refresh rate and a global brightness of 1,600 nits. HDR brightness reaches 5,000 nits and there is high-frequency (4,320 MHz) PWM dimming. The screen glass is micro quad curved on all sides.
The Magic7 Pro has IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water, so you should feel relatively safe with it.
On the software front, the Magic7 Pro runs MagicOS 9.0 on top of Android 15 and of course there’s no shortage of smart AI-based features, it’s got everything, whatever you can think of. There’s Honor’s Magic Portal with circle search, AI inside Honor Notes, AI translation and Gemini support.
Moving on to the Magic7 Lite, talking about a phone that features a 6.78-inch 1224x2700px 120Hz AMOLED, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC with 8GB of RAM, and a powerful 6,600mAh battery with 66W charging.
There’s a 108MP primary camera and a 5MP ultrawide lens on the back. A 16MP selfie camera stands out on the front.
Today, the Honor Magic7 Pro in Lunar Shadow Gray and Black shades went on sale. The 12/512GB model costs €1,300/£1,100 and comes with a free MagicPad 2 (normally worth €600/£500).
At the same time, the commercial career of Honor Magic7 Lite in Titanium Purple and Titanium Black began. The 8/256GB model is priced at €370 and the 8/512GB model at €400 / £400. Users can get Honor’s Earbuds Open as a gift.
