The new Kia EV6 GT adopts the propulsion system introduced on the Ioniq 5 N. The performance electrics can simulate a gearbox

The Kia EV6 GT facelift has officially debuted with more power and a feature it inherits from its Hyundai Ioniq 5 N sibling.

The EV6 GT returns with an update to the Korean model with even more power and the ability to simulate gears, just like we saw on the new Ioniq 5 N. The electric performance model now offers 65 hp more and a bigger battery, 84 kWh.

Kia has released the first photos and information about the new EV6 GT in Korea. On this occasion we can see the updates on an aesthetic level, both inside and out, but we also learn that the car has gained 65 HP and a bigger battery.

The Kia EV6 facelift was unveiled this spring, and the EV6 GT’s design builds on the GT-Line trim level and its aggressive elements. The car uses the same aggressive design cues, but also benefits from the new thinner optical blocks, and a trained eye will be able to tell a GT from a regular GT-Line.

For example, the inserts in the intakes are specific to the EV6 GT, as are the specially designed wheels, which measure 21 inches in diameter. Behind them we can see a set of bright green painted brake calipers. There’s also a redesigned speaker at the back.

Inside, the sporty theme continues, the cabin being decorated with green ornaments to emphasize the fact that we are not dealing with an ordinary EV6, but with the most sporty version of the electric model of the Korean manufacturer.

In addition to the aesthetic updates, the new EV6 GT benefits from the same drive train used by the Ioniq 5 N. Thanks to these changes, the car offers more power, 650 hp and 770 Nm to be exact, extracted from two electric motors, which gives it provides acceleration from 0 to 100 in just 3.5 seconds.

What further differentiates the car from the pre-facelift version is the possibility to simulate a gearbox, just like the Ioniq 5 N. Thus, the driver can use the paddles mounted on the steering wheel to change gears. The feature is also accompanied by its own soundtrack, which mimics an internal combustion engine.
