The new mini player did not work. YouTube is bringing back its old form

Service YouTube recently launched a public test of the new design mini player in your Android mobile app. The latter was significantly more flexible than the original, and it seemed that this change would remain permanent. According to the portal AndroidAuthority however, suddenly everything is different and the service returns the original design.

The new design did not work

The company started in July Google in the mobile application YouTube test a new float mini player using a picture-in-picture system (PiP). Basically, it resembled a mini player that is shown to subscription subscribers YouTube Premium after they leave the YouTube app.

Unlike him, however, in the free version, it was only displayed in the application, but it was also possible to move it between the corners of the screen and change its size. While some users liked the flexibility of the new design, a significantly larger number said it was intrusive and full of bugs.

Google seems to have heard their frustrations and after updating the YouTube app to version 19.45.36 restored the old mini player. The latter works as before and is displayed in a small stationary window at the bottom with basic controls. Its options are more limited, but it is obviously more suitable for most users.
