The Reform Party has decided on its candidates for ministerial posts in the new government: Jürgen Ligi will become Minister of Finance, Joko Alender will become Minister of Climate, and Erkki Keldo will receive the post of Minister of Economic Affairs.
Minister of Defence Hanno Pevkur, Minister of Social Protection Signe Riisalo and Minister of Culture Heidi Purga will continue to hold their posts. Since the Reform Party received the portfolio of the Minister of Economy, which previously belonged to Eesti 200, the reformists gave the position of Minister of Justice to their coalition partner, reports rus.err.ee.
The reformists’ government has removed Justice Minister Madis Timpson and Finance Minister Mart Võrklaev from their posts.
“If you look at who the new finance minister is, he is the best possible choice. If anyone can continue to clean up the state finances, it is definitely him. I am not against continuing to work in the Riigikogu at a somewhat leisurely pace,” Võrklaev said.
