The new park near Spence will be a true urban oasis on 1.2 hectares

Works on the construction of the new city park in Novi Sad, which will be located near Spens, are progressing significantly and are expected to be completed by the middle of 2025. The park will stretch along Tsar Lazar Boulevard and will include about 1.2 hectares of green space.

The park is planned to be a real urban oasis with fountain, fountains, amphitheater, benches and deckchairs which will have chargers for mobile devices, according to the NS Uživo portal. Special emphasis is placed on modern technology, so it will be provided throughout the park Free Wi-Fiwhich will contribute to greater accessibility and convenience for visitors.

In addition, the park will also have artificial rock for climbinga green wall and numerous other contents that will contribute to the aesthetic and functional character of the space.

The project envisages the planting of new trees and hundreds of bushy plants, while the lawn covers about 10,000 square meters.

From the City Administration for Environmental Protection, they state for NS Uživo that the works are progressing according to plan, and the goal is for citizens to have the opportunity to enjoy this space intended for rest and recreation as soon as possible.

The lighting of the park will be connected to public lighting, and the entire area will be covered video surveillance for the safety of visitors. It is interesting that in this park artificial materials such as behaton will not be used, but the footings for the paths will be made of paddy, which is in line with the practice in large European parks.

Also, the park will be equipped modern watering system which became necessary due to climate change.

The total value of the project amounts to 370 million dinarsand the funds are provided by the Provincial Government. The planned deadline for the completion of the works is July 2025, when Novi Sad will get another attractive and functional park.
