End of speculation. Latest Tesla Model Y „Juniper“ quietly appeared on the Chinese website of Elon Musk’s car company. It is shown on it in all its facelifted beauty and also confirms the information from the leaked images that we wrote about in the summer.
At the same time, user Dominic BRNKMN already published on the X network a few hours before the official unveiling spy shots of this electric carwhich Tesla actively tested in the snow. At the same time, a photo of the upgraded Model Y “Juniper” also appeared on the Instagram account of user cochespias1. And although the photos are not of first-class quality, Tesla was no longer disguised in them. The public presentation of the new model was only a matter of time.
Inspiration by the Chevrolet Equinox EV
Photos on Tesla’s official website they just confirm guesses and leaked information. In the modernized Tesla Model Y “Juniper”, the front part underwent the biggest change. Gone are the classic headlights we are used to on the current Model Y. New style connection by a light line resembles more competitive Chevrolet Equinox EV.
It is also worth paying attention to here camerawhich does not aim to serve only for better parking – its purpose is smart summoning of an electric car.
The inspiration is visible in the back Cybertuckemfrom which the new model borrowed the typical light panel. The updated Model Y also differs from its predecessor with differently shaped bumpers and a different wheel design. But the lines of the car remain rounded and not sharp like the Cybertruck.
According to a Chinese source, the new Model Y has “Juniper” better handling and noise reductionreceived a redesigned chassis and should be more powerful.
Highland style interior
Finally, it is also possible to see the interior of the Model Y “Juniper”, which until now has been shrouded in mystery. According to the available photos, it is very similar to the interior Model 3 Highland. It is not missing in it touch screen with a diagonal of 15.4 inches and an 8-inch tablet in the back, intended for entertainment.
Ambient can also be interesting cabin lighting and even underwent innovation flyingwhich lacks icons for blinkers. In terms of materials, they dominate the interior of the vehicle textiles and leather. And although there has been speculation about a six-seater, so far it looks like it will be just that 5-seater a classic.
But you may be pleased with the luggage space – the volume of the trunk is solid 2,138 liters and the fifth door is of course electrically operated.
2 variants Tesly Model Y
So far, it seems that it will be sold in 2 variants (that is, at least in the Chinese market) – Model Y Standard Range with rear wheel drive or Long Range with four-wheel drive.
The first version promises acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and the range should be up to 593 km (according to CLTC). The second variant has an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h even in 4.3 seconds and range on one charge up to 719 km (dle CLTC).
At the same time, the price of the new Model Y “Juniper” looks more than favorable. Model Y Standard Range stands from 263,600 yuan (about CZK 876,000), Long Range is for sale from 303,500 yuan (about CZK 1,010,000). It is not clear when it will reach other countries. Like Tesla, it didn’t reveal specifications or pricing for Europe or other markets.
