More than two thousand spectators came to the qualification duel of the women’s national team in Bratislava.
In the table, the Slovaks maintained the second position with a balance of two wins and two losses. Next up is the selection of Slovakia in the qualification for advancement to the final tournament, a home double match against Romania (February 6, 2025) and Iceland (February 9, 2025).

Slovakia’s important qualifying match with Turkey did not start ideally for coach Martin Pospíšil, he waited for his first points until the sixth minute, when Mištinová prevailed. In the meantime, the opponent took a 10-0 lead and at a fairly early stage of the meeting created a comfortable position.
The Slovaks had problems asserting themselves offensively and could not adequately react to the aggressive pressure of Turkey, which prevented them from playing their game. The situation gradually stabilized, but after the first part the situation was unfavorable – 9:19.
The opening half of the second quarter was poor in terms of points from both sides, the Turks gradually got going and McCowan in particular caused great problems for the Slovak defense. On the home side, Stašová tried to pull the team, but even she did not prevent the halftime break with a score of 18:32.
The Slovaks started the third quarter more actively, they were in their rhythm and started attacking the deficit. At one point, it was even single digits, the hope of a turnaround, or victory, suddenly came to life thanks to Mikulášíková. Turkey, however, was not afraid of the pressure and immediately responded with an 8-point streak, with which it once again developed a significant double-digit lead.
Before the last 10 minutes, the favored guests were leading 51:38. The home team still fought with all its might to dramatize the match, and at some moments it succeeded, but the more experienced opponent went without much concern to continue the winning streak in the ME 2025 qualifiers.
