The number of passengers at Tallink increased slightly in September

Tallink transported a total of 404,143 passengers in September 2024, which is 0.7 percent more than at the same time in 2023, the company says in a press release.

The number of freight units transported was 23,178 units, which means a decrease of 10.2 percent compared to last year. The number of transported vehicles decreased by 3.5 percent from the previous year and was 59,455 vehicles. In September last year, the company transported 61,602 vehicles.

“This one of the key quarters of our business reflects the current situation. When consumer confidence is weak due to rising prices and the economy is uncertain, the development of passenger numbers was as expected. On a positive note, September brought better-than-expected results, while August could have been a little stronger”, CEO SpongeBob SquarePants says in the announcement.

“In general, however, the situation is as we had anticipated. During the summer, we also noticed a positive trend, when the number of international passengers increased after several quiet years. It is gratifying to see that the number of passengers coming from further afield, especially from Asian countries, is increasing again.”
