The number of passengers carried by THY reached 65.1 million in 9 months

THY reported the company’s traffic and passenger data for September 2024 and the January-September period to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP).

According to THY’s traffic results for the January-September period, the total number of passengers in the said period, which was 63.9 million in 2023, increased by 1.8 percent to 65.1 million in the same period of 2024.

While the number of international-to-international transfer passengers was 22.4 million in the January-September 2023 period, it increased by 6.7 percent to 23.9 million in the same period of 2024.

The passenger occupancy rate decreased by 0.8 points in the January-September 2024 period compared to the same period in 2023, falling to 82.3 percent. While international passenger occupancy was at 81.8 percent, domestic passenger occupancy was 87 percent.

While the total offered seat kilometers (AKK) was 176 billion in the January – September 2023 period, it increased by 8.4 percent to 190.8 billion in the same period of 2024.

While the cargo-mail transported was 1.2 million tons in the January – September 2023 period, it increased by 26.5 percent in the same period of 2024, reaching 1.5 million tons. The statement also stated that the number of aircraft in the fleet was 467 as of the end of September.

September results

THY’s total number of passengers, which was 7.9 million in September 2023, decreased by 3.4 percent to 7.7 million in the same period of 2024.

While the number of international-to-international transfer passengers was 2.66 million in September 2023, it increased by 3.1 percent to 2.74 million in the same period of 2024.

The passenger occupancy rate decreased by 1.1 points in September 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, falling to 83.8 percent. In the same period, the international occupancy rate was 83.3 percent, while the domestic occupancy rate was 88.8 percent.

While the total offered seat kilometers (AKK) was 21.1 billion in September 2023, it increased by 5.7 percent in the same period of 2024, reaching 22.3 billion.

While the cargo-mail transported was 150.2 thousand tons in September 2023, it increased by 11.9 percent to 168.1 thousand tons in the same period of 2024.
