The OLED monitor market is set to grow by a spectacular 181% in 2024

According to the latest report published by market research firm TrendForce, the OLED monitor sector is witnessing unprecedented growth in 2024.

Estimates point to total shipments of 1.44 million units by the end of the year, marking an increase of 181% compared to the previous year.

Samsung dominates the market, followed by LG

At the top of the list of manufacturers are those from Samsung, who are preparing to end the year with a market share of 31%.

The success of the South Korean company is attributed in particular to its 49-inch models, highly appreciated by consumers, as well as to the strategy of constantly launching new products.

LG consolidates its position as vice-leader with a 19% market share, while Dell and Asus are in close competition for third place: each has around 14% of the market.

MSI surprises with significant growth

The surprise comes from Taiwanese manufacturer MSI, whose OLED monitor division is experiencing some of the fastest growth in the industry.

The company is expected to rank fifth overall with an 11% market share.

Another Taiwanese manufacturer, Gigabyte, will take sixth place, controlling 3% of the market.

QD-OLED dominates the segment

As far as the types of OLED panels are concerned, this technology is establishing itself as the undisputed standard in 2024.

About three out of four OLED monitors sold, or 73%, will use this technology. This is a significant increase from the 53.5% share recorded last year.

The rest of the market is dominated by WOLED panels, while the original RGB OLED technology accounts for only 1% of the total.

The new 31.5 inch models

A key factor in the growth of the market is the introduction of new models with a diagonal of 31.5 inches.

Manufacturers like Samsung and Asus are emphasizing improved specifications and advanced features to boost sales. This strategy seems to be working, contributing to the overall growth of the market.

Monitors for video game enthusiasts

For consumers interested in purchasing a new monitor, especially for gaming, the choice can seem overwhelming in today’s environment.

Although OLED monitors occupy important positions in the recommendation charts, there are still competitive LED models that can be the right choices depending on your budget and specific needs.
