Funding for the Radiotherapy department of the new hospital

At the same time, the County Council is looking for funding to build a Radiotherapy department in the new hospital.

In the old Oncology building, other medical services will be relocated, such as palliative care – a department that was left without its headquarters in the town of Ghioroc following an earthquake in 2023.

The Oncology Hospital was set up in a completely rehabilitated historic building with 13 million lei funding granted through PNDL, the difference of three million lei being provided by the County Council. It has an area of approximately 3,500 square meters, 50 beds for continuous hospitalization and three beds for day hospitalization.

At the time of completion of the works, the representatives of SCJU Arad said that the new treatment unit was absolutely necessary, given that the old building in which the Oncology Department still operates is retroceded.
