the payment date finally known

This exceptional aid targets 2.3 million beneficiaries in France. Automatically paid by CAF, MSA or France Travail, its amount varies depending on the composition of the household, with a base of 152.45 euros for a single person and increases for families.

Automatic aid for low-income households

Renewed each year, in 2024 the Christmas bonus will be paid on Tuesday December 17. Intended for recipients of the main social minimums (RSA, ASS, AER or flat-rate bonus for resumption of activity), it aims to offer a financial boost for the end-of-year holidays. Around 2.3 million households will benefit from it, without any special procedure for the majority, since payment is automatic by organizations such as CAF, MSA or France Travail.

However, those registered with France Travail must check if their request is registered to avoid missing out. It is also recommended to keep your personal information up to date with the competent organizations. The bonus is non-taxable and does not depend on income, but only on the receipt of a social minimum in November or December 2024.

Stable amounts despite inflation

A single person with a child will thus receive 308.72 euros while a couple with a child will receive 274.41 euros: the 35% increase for single parents is renewed for this year. So for a couple with two children, count on 320.15 euros and 370.45 euros for a single parent with two children.

For a couple with four children, the premium will be 442.11 euros and will be increased to 457.35 euros if the single-parent family is made up of five children. An amount of 60.98 euros is added for each additional child beyond that within a couple, 82.32 euros if it is a single parent.

For the RSA beneficiariesthe minimum amount of the Christmas bonus is €152.45. It is paid by CAF and varies according to family composition. Thus, it reaches €381.12 for a family with 3 children.

For ASS beneficiariesthe Christmas bonus is paid by France Travail. This is then a payment of €152.45 regardless of your family situation.

Despite persistent inflation, the Christmas bonus is renewed with the same amounts. You should know that the Christmas bonus is not an allowance like any other. It was put in place exceptionally, in 1998, to support households during this difficult year. The government also issues a decree every year to renew this bonus, which is not included in the Social Security Code.
