The smartphone app of popular video service Plex has been completely overhauled, with not only a new design.
It will mainly be for users new design of the Plex app for iOS and Android. The app looks a lot more modern, with an interface that makes it easier to navigate through the offerings of your media servers. The time when everything is hidden behind hamburger menus is over.
The app also uses more images for a fresher appearance. The Watchlist has also been placed more prominently in the menu, because the makers see that the function is widely used.
But it’s not just the look of the app that has changed. Under the hood, Plex has been completely rebuilt to use the same codebase for all platforms. This means that new features that will be rolled out in the future will also come to your smartphone.
Release
You can already use the updated Plex app try via a preview version. This is done to properly test the app before the general public starts using it. The app should be ready for the rest of the users at the beginning of 2025.
