Austrian police found the dead body of a four-year-old child in one of the apartments in the capital city of Vienna on Sunday morning.
The body of the child was discovered by the police at approximately 7:30 a.m. in an apartment in the Favoriten district. The Regional Directorate of the Police in Vienna assumes that the child was killed due to the injuries on his body.
In this connection, the police detained the 29-year-old mother of the child, who was also injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.
According to the Krone.at portal, the mother faces reasonable suspicion of murder and allegedly inflicted the injuries on herself using a knife.
The child’s father called the police to the apartment via the emergency line, but the doctor pronounced him dead on the spot, writes APA. Further details are not immediately known and the case is under investigation.
