From time to time, fake emails sent in the name of the police appear – warns the Communication Service of the National Police Headquarters (ORFK) on Police.hu.
Fraudsters want to extort money by referring to the police. According to the advice on Police.hu, it can be guessed that they are fraudulent letters by the fact that they are written in bad Hungarian (foreign and Hungarian expressions are mixed, the positive and negative forms alternate), the sender refers to organizations that sound good, but do not actually exist , for example the National Police. The sender is real and can be found publicly on the police websitehe signs the letter in the name of deep ones, but the position is often wrong.
The police do not send letters with a threatening or urgent tone, they stressed. It was pointed out: the police do not communicate via the gmail mail system, but send letters through Customer Gate, Office Gate, Company Gate or from an official e-mail address, or by post.
If anyone has doubts about the authenticity of the shipment, contact the “sending organization” not in the letter, but through the contact information on the official website of the police
– requests the ORFK.
