I told the Register over a year ago that I would not be renewing my 2024 contract when it expired with the latest election polls as I would be focusing on other businesses and opportunities
– he said Ann Selzer. He said about the pre-planned change, he wanted to make his announcement after his last statement coincided with the election results, and then admitted that it was “ironic” that the exact opposite happened. Selzer is nevertheless proud of his work so far, but continues in a different field.
the Iowa Poll was considered by many to be the gold standard of opinion polls.
A CNN according to the Selzer-supervised poll missed the winner just once between 2000 and 2020 and was famous for predicting last-minute swing voter preferences in Iowa, where primaries are held among the first. Nate Silver data analyst among the most reliable researchers ranked Selzert 2024-am.
Selzer previously called the survey that slipped this year “a big sideshow”,
then suggested that a poll that (wrongly) showed a Kamala Harris victory may have energized less motivated Republican voters, as most expected Donald Trump to win the state confidently. Other pollsters, including Emerson College, projected a victory for the Republican standard-bearer in Iowa, 43% to 56%.
