Splitting the Ministry of Climate into two contradicts the cutting goals of the new government coalition, but the Ministry of Climate as such has justified itself, the journalists stated in the program “Äripäev eteris” summarizing the week.
“If you look at the number of portfolios and the fact that they want to make one more ministerial portfolio, it goes against the reduction goals,” said Ken Rohelaan, head of Äripää’s creative editorial department. “For me, it would have been much more logical if a new ministerial portfolio had been made instead of some existing ones, so that the number of portfolios would have remained the same. At the moment, it seems strange that we are creating an additional ministerial position in the government, but at the same time we are demanding 10% cuts in the ministries,” argued Rohelaan.
