Are you looking for something new to look at in your garden or lawn? Make a wonderful pot tower from the flower pots.

A pot tower is much easier to implement than a flower tower. A flower tower requires either a store-bought or self-made frame with irrigation pipes.

The pot tower can be assembled ready-made from supplies found at home gardeners. In addition, you only need a strong iron bar.

A pot tower is a cool sight in the garden – this is how it’s done

The pot tower stays upright thanks to the stick that points to the ground. Flower pots are stacked on top of each other by threading a stick through the holes in the bottom of the pots.

The stick must be pushed deep into the ground to keep it upright. The stick must be really sturdy, because otherwise the tower will start to tilt due to the weight of the pots.

For example, thick brush steel, which can be found in leftover construction materials, is ideal as a stick. You can also use a long brush handle if it fits through the holes in the bottom of the pots.

Choose a ground plant where the stick will sink as the place to assemble the pot tower. Hard ground or boulders can make it impossible to sink the rod.

Flower pots should be collected in the fall, so they don’t freeze and crack during winter frosts. You can leave the stick on the ground to dry if you want.

Supplies:

  • 6 different sized terracotta pots with holes in the bottom
  • 5 seedlings of herbs or flowers
  • a metal stick about 1.5–2 meters long, for example made of brush steel
  • fresh potting soil

It is convenient to water the plants in the pot tower, because the excess water drains from the pots to the pots below. With six pots, the pot tower becomes about a meter high.

Do like this:

  1. Insert the metal stick deep into the ground so that it stays firmly upright. A depth of about half a meter or a meter is enough.
  2. Turn the biggest pot upside down. Thread a metal stick through the hole in the bottom of the pot and take the pot down to the ground.
  3. Then string the rest of the pots onto the metal stick in order of size from largest to smallest. Place the pots on their sides alternately in opposite directions. Take your time, because the pots easily fall into each other, causing them to crack.
  4. Once all the pots are in place, carefully fill them halfway with soil.
  5. Remove the seedlings from their protective pots and plant them in the pots. If necessary, add planting soil. Finally, water.
