Estonian President Alar Karis approved the composition of the new government headed by Kristen Michal after the Riigikogu granted Michal powers.
A new government will begin work in Estonia on July 23. Before that, it will take the oath of office in the Riigikogu. The government is made up of a ruling coalition of the Reform Party, the Social Democratic Party and Eesti 200.
The government approved by the president, as ERR writes, will include members from the Reform Party seven people: Prime Minister Kristen Michal, Finance Minister Jürgen Ligi, Climate Minister Joko Alender, Minister of Economic Affairs and Industry Erkki Keldo, Defence Minister Hanno Pevkur, Social Affairs Minister Signe Riisalo and Culture Minister Heidi Purga.
Eesti 200 present three: Minister of Foreign Affairs Margus Tsahkna, Minister of Education and Science Kristina Kallas and Minister of Justice and Digital Technologies Liisa Pakosta.
From the Social Democrats four: Minister of the Interior Lauri Läänemets, Minister of Health Riina Sikkut, Minister of Regional Affairs and Agriculture Piret Hartman and Minister of Infrastructure Vladimir Svet (this post did not exist before).

The president has tasked Michal with forming a new government following the resignation of Kaja Kallas’ cabinet, which is linked to her appointment as head of the EU’s foreign policy service. Kallas is expected to take up her post in October.
