The week behind us on the Product Exchange was marked by a weak supply of all primary agricultural products, while demand was increased. The price of corn has increased significantly, and the prices of other grains have also increased. Weak supply caused a drop in turnover, so 2,175.00 tons of goods were traded this week, 64.75% less than seven days earlier. The total financial value of the turnover was RSD 52,302,500.00. The primary crop in trading was wheat, and prices recorded growth this week.

The price of corn has increased significantly

At the beginning of the week, the most activity was recorded in the corn market. During all five days, an extremely weak offer was noticeable, while the demand for these goods was increased. During the whole week, the interest of exporters was also expressed when it comes to corn.

Exchange contracts for corn were concluded in the price range from 18.80 to 19.40 dinars/kg without VAT, depending on the aflatoxin analysis and parity. The weighted price was 19.17 din/kg without VAT (21.09 din/kg with VAT), so compared to the previous week there was a noticeable price increase of 3.33%.

Compared to seven days earlier, 79.38% less corn was traded, and in the total volume of trade, corn participated with a 32% share.

Wheat price increased, supply weak

As with corn, wheat supply was extremely weak this week. Buyers showed interest in wheat with different quality parameters, and interest in feed wheat was noticeable. It was only at the end of the week that demand decreased and supply increased.

The conclusion of stock exchange contracts was also made difficult by the difference in the parities of offered and demanded goods. Wheat was traded in the price range from 20.30 to 21.10 dinars/kg without VAT, depending on the parameters of quality and parity. The weighted price was 20.88 din/kg without VAT (22.96 din/kg with VAT).

Weak supply and increased demand led to a price increase of 1.47%. One exchange contract was also concluded at the CPT buyer parity at a price of 22.00 dinars/kg without VAT. Wheat accounted for 65% of the total weekly turnover, and was the primary crop in trade.

Soy and fodder barley

The soybean market was passive this week, with weak supply and demand, and the conclusion of sales contracts for this oilseed was absent.

There were no major activities on the feed barley market either, where the demand was weak and at a lower price level than the supply.

Mineral fertilizers

Among other goods, mineral fertilizers were also traded, in the formulation NPK 20:20:0 in packaging 25/1 at a price of 52.25 din/kg without VAT (445 €/t without VAT) and NPK 16 :16:16 in packaging 25/1 at a price of 49.43 din/kg without VAT (421 €/t without VAT).
