Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has announced to reduce the price of gold in the country’s market after three rounds of increase. This time, the price of good quality i.e. 22 carat gold will be 1 lakh 40 thousand 376 taka.
This information was informed in a press release signed by Masudur Rahman, chairman of the Bajus Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee on Monday.
According to Bajus, the price of acidic gold has decreased in the local market. The new price of gold has been fixed keeping in view the overall situation. The new prices are effective from Tuesday (November 26).
According to the new price, the price of the best quality or 22 carat gold has been reduced by Tk 1,890 to Tk 1,40,376. The price of a 21 carat gold bar has been reduced from Tk 1,808 to Tk 1,33,996.
Apart from this, the price of 18 carat gold has been reduced from Tk 1,540 to Tk 1,14,855. And the traditional gold price has been reduced from 1 thousand 318 taka to 94 thousand 327 taka.
Meanwhile, the price of silver has been kept unchanged despite the fall in gold prices. Currently, the price of 22 carat Pratibhari silver is Tk 2,577, 21 carat is Tk 2,449, 18 carat is Tk 2,111 and traditional silver is Tk 1,586.
Last November 24, the maximum price of 22 carat gold was increased by 2 thousand 833 taka per load and fixed at 1 lakh 42 thousand 266 taka. Before that, on November 21, the price of a 22 carat gold bar was increased by Tk 1,993 to Tk 1,39,443 and on November 19, the price of a 22 carat gold bar was increased by Tk 2,940 to Tk 1,37,449.
Before this, the price of gold was reduced four consecutive times on November 5, 8, 13 and 15.
