As STIPS reporters noted during the past week, the purchase prices of livestock recorded an increase in all parts of Serbia. The price of piglets increased in Šumadija and in Vojvodina, but a fall in the purchase price of fattened beef was also recorded.
The purchase price of beef recorded a FALL
In the last week of July, a drop in the purchase price of fattened beef over 480 kilograms in slaughterhouses in the Šumadija region was recorded, as the amount of 340 din/kg dominated.
In the slaughterhouses in the Moravica region, fattening bulls of the SM breed with a body weight of over 500 kilograms were purchased at a lower price, so the amount of 340 dinars/kg dominated, which was also the purchase price of fattening steers with a body weight of over 480 kilograms.
The purchase price of the same category of cattle was lower compared to the previous period in the slaughterhouses of the Middle-Banat region, since the purchase was usually carried out at a price of 330 dinars/kg.
Fattening bulls of the SM breed with a body weight of over 500 kilograms were cheaper compared to the previous period at the livestock market in Kraljevo, as the amount of 330 din/kg dominated. In addition to fattening steers, it was possible to sell SM breed calves, breeding heifers and SM breed slaughter cows, but the prices were at last week’s level.
The fall in the purchase price of fattening bulls of the SM breed with a body weight of over 500 kilograms was also recorded in slaughterhouses in the area of the North-Bač region, as the amount of 350 din/kg dominated.
The price of piglets increased
At the cattle market in Kragujevac, there was an increase in the selling prices of piglets weighing 16 to 25 kilograms to 350 din/kg and fattening pigs weighing more than 120 kilograms to 230 din/kg. Unlike them, the price of sows for slaughter was lower because the amount of 180 din/kg dominated.
In slaughterhouses in the Šumadija region, purchase prices for piglets weighing 16 to 25 kilograms and fattening pigs weighing 80 to 120 kilograms were higher compared to the previous period.
According to the report of the STIPS reporter from Novi Sad, last week a drop in the purchase price of piglets weighing 16 to 25 kilograms was recorded in slaughterhouses in the area of the South-Bač region, as the amount of 360 dinars/kg dominated.
The dominant selling price of piglets with a body weight of up to 15 kilograms was 350 din/kg, while piglets with a body weight of 16 to 25 kilograms could most often be sold at a price of 330 din/kg at the livestock market in Čačak.
In addition to piglets, the offer of sows for slaughter was recorded at a price of 250 dinars/kg.
The price of lambs also increased
According to the report of the STIPS reporter from Požarevac, the price of lambs increased at the livestock market in this city, as the amount of 550 din/kg dominated. Butchers from the Braničevo region bought lambs at the prevailing price of 500 dinars/kg. They paid 230 din/kg for heifers, while the dominant buying price for sheep was 220 din/kg.
In Čačak, the live livestock market recorded a drop in the price of lambs compared to the previous period. The amount of 430 din/kg dominated. More kids, heifers and sheep could be bought, and the prices were unchanged.
Butchers from the Šumadija region bought lambs (400 din/kg) and sheep (180 din/kg) at higher prices, while the purchase price of dviska was lower because the amount of 180 din/kg dominated.
Buyers of lambs at the cattle market in Leskovac had to pay 500 din/kg, for kids 400 din/kg. The dominant price of kids was 400 din/kg, sheep 235 din/kg, while the dominant price of goats was 120 din/kg.
There was no purchase of lambs, kids and other categories of sheep and goats in slaughterhouses in the Jablanica region.
