The PSOE meets with Puigdemont in Switzerland to unblock the budgets

A PSOE delegation has moved this Friday to Swiss to meet with Junts leadersin order to rebuild bridges with the formation led by the former Catalan president Carles Puigdemontaccording to sources familiar with the meeting who confirmed this to EFE.

The meeting comes after The latest parliamentary defeat of Pedro Sánchez’s government this weekwhen Junts, together with PP and Vox, rejected a proposal to regulate seasonal and room rental contracts.

From the socialist ranks there were reproaches to JxCat for aligning itself with PP and Vox, to which Puigdemont responded with a message on the social network X in which He urged the PSOE to “digest” that it governs in a minority and warned that “blackmail does not work with Junts”“.

In order to re-establish collaboration with Junts, according to eldiario.es, a PSOE delegation headed by its organizational secretary, Santos Cerdán, landed this Friday in Switzerland, a regular place for discreet meetings between the two parties.

As part of Pedro Sánchez’s investiture pact last year, the PSOE and Junts agreed to hold monthly meetings in Switzerlandwith the presence of an international verifier, a role played by Salvadoran diplomat Francisco Galindo Vélez.
