The queue in Ukraine is static. Russians and Ukrainians face the same challenge, experts say

British Ministry of Defense today statedthat most of the front line has remained static over the past week. Ukrainian troops continued to advance in the south, where they secured the village of Urožajne despite stiff resistance from the occupiers. The Russians continued to attack around the city of Kupjansk in Kharkiv Oblast.

“Along the front, both sides face the same challenge: trying to defeat well-fortified units while having a limited amount of uncommitted forces for new forays,” foreign observers noted.

In any case, Moscow boasted one success on Saturday, which, however, cannot be reliably verified. “Members of the Russian army eliminated an enemy landing force of about 150 people who were trying to gain a bridgehead on the left bank of the Dnieper,” communicated army according to available information.

Russia, on the other hand, cannot enjoy the findings of the diary New York Timeswho wrote that the war claimed nearly 500,000 dead or wounded soldiers in almost a year and a half, with more victims falling to the aggressor. Up to 120,000 soldiers fell to the occupiers, and another 180,000 were injured. According to estimates, Kyiv records 70 thousand dead and 100 to 120 thousand wounded.

However, American officials added that it is difficult to get exact numbers, because the parties to the conflict underestimate the numbers or even deliberately do not publish them. However, according to the newspaper, it is clear that since the beginning of the long-awaited Ukrainian counter-offensive, the number of victims has increased.

Estimates are based on satellite images, captured communications or information on social networks. At the same time, Washington is aware that Russia has a significantly larger number of soldiers at its disposal, up to 1.3 million.
