The recognition of sporting achievements also honors people and entities beyond the triumph

Recognition gala for sporting achievements 2024

The City Council of Martorell celebrated this evening at the Summer Municipal Pool of the Comprehensive Sports and Health Center (CIES) the recognition ceremony for the 2023-2024 sporting achievements. A dozen athletes were honored as individuals, as well as 62 teams and people from some of the 15 organizations recognized by the Sports Department. As a novelty, eight clubs have been considered for their contribution to sport and social cohesion, despite not actually achieving success, and for the cycling career of veteran Antoni Folqué Serres.

Nearly two hundred people attended the evening. They were received by the mayor, Xavier Fonollosa, the councilor for Sports Gerard Mimó and the councilor for Teixit Associatiu, Cooperation and Participation Àngels Soria, in addition to the rest of the government councillors. The parliaments, the family photograph, the refreshments, the delivery of the individual recognitions and the opening of the swimming pool in the bathroom were the chronology of an event presented by the journalist Pau Bonastre from Martorell.

Fonollosa emphasized that “we love to meet here at the end of the sports season and to be able to share a night together, in a gala that recognizes the sporting achievements of each of you, whether individually or collectively, at Martorell or outside, nationally or internationally”.

The mayor emphasized that “the values of sport are much more important than the sporting success itself, although in sport we compete and we like to succeed, and to achieve it we rely on effort , dedication and individual and collective improvement. And above all, in the will to have fun”.

The Councilor for Sports, Gerard Mimó, congratulated all those recognized and emphasized that “from the governing team we are very happy with the successes of this season, and we value them all equally, whether school or individual level.
