The region reports the former chief physician in Randers to the police

A former senior physician in the regional psychiatry in Randers has been reported to the police by Region Central Jutland.

This is written by TV2 Østjylland.

The report to East Jutland Police is made after new serious findings in the review of 1500 patient records. The region has employed a number of experienced specialists to review patient records from 2019 onwards.

This is where several findings have been made, which the Central Jutland Region wants the police to now assess, writes TV2 Østjylland, which also reports that there have been several cases of medical malpractice at a psychiatric unit in the regional psychiatry in Randers.

TV2 Østjylland has also seen a letter sent from the Agency for Patient Safety to the former chief physician:

– We are still investigating the concerns about your professional competences that have been raised. However, your record keeping is so deficient that it is not possible to assess your professional competence on this basis. Below, assess whether your professional assessments and treatment measures have been correct and relevant, the letter says.

It was a whistleblower inquiry that in due course led to the patient records having to be reviewed. This ultimately led to a police report.
