The PAS candidate, Maia Sandu, remains in first place at this stage, with just over 35% of these votes. In second place is, preliminary, Alexandru Stoianoglo, with a little over 25%, followed by Renato Usatîi who accumulates at this stage 14.5%, according to agora.md.

CEC has started publishing the first preliminary results. After the online reception of over 20 percent of the minutes, Maia Sandu is in first place, with 33.7%, closely followed by Alexandru Stoianoglo, with 30.5%, according to vocabasarabiei.md.

Renato Usatîi ranked third, with 14 percent.

In the race for the presidency of the Republic of Moldova, 11 candidates have registered, but the fight for the presidential seat in Chisinau will be between the current president, the pro-European Maia Sandu, and the main candidate of the left, Alexandr Stoianoglo, former prosecutor general, supported by the Party Socialists from the Republic of Moldova.

The other candidates are Renato Usatîi (Our Party), Vasile Tarlev (Future of Moldova), Irina Vlah (independent candidate), Ion Chicu (Party of Development and Consolidation of Moldova), Octavian Ţîcu (Bloc “Impreună”), Andrei Năstase (independent candidate), Tudor Ulianovschi (independent candidate), Victoria Furtună (independent candidate) and Natalia Morar (independent candidate).

For the presidential elections and the referendum to amend the Constitution, 2,221 polling stations were set up, of which 234 are open abroad.

Of the 1,987 sections opened on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, the most, namely 306, operate in the municipality of Chisinau. 30 polling stations were opened in the localities of Transnistria. According to the Central Electoral Commission, on October 2, 2024, 274,475 citizens with the right to vote residing in the administrative-territorial units to the left of the Dniester were registered.

Among the 234 sections abroad, most are open in Italy (60), Germany (26), France (20), Great Britain (17) and Romania (16). Only two polling stations operate in the Russian Federation, both in Moscow. For each of the two sections, 5,000 ballots were allocated.
